Introducing The Voice of Grassroots Football: Star of the Week for the week beginning 14/06/21!
After scouring through hundreds of grassroots football highlights, performances and results all over the UK – we’re proud to award this week’s Star of the Week to LEE NESBITT of GOALACTICOS F.C. (BIRMINGHAM).
The experienced centre-back/central defensive midfielder put in a monumental shift during Goalactico’s 4-1 victory over Horizon Athletic, with an early goal line clearance the least of a near perfect individual performance. With his team neck-and-neck to capture the league title, Nesbitt’s heroics on the day will come a long way come the final matchday of the season.
His manager said, "Lee Nesbitt played absolutely fantastic against Horizon Athletic; making important challenges, managing the back line and helping the team to success. He saw danger in the 40th minute with the scoreline being 2-1 to GFC at the time, and made an important slide tackle on the goal line to prevent Horizon Athletic from making it even."
