A long time out, but back to stay.

Wow. Been a while, hasn’t it? After what’s felt like a lifetime, us at The Voice of Grassroots Football are finally back to broadcasting the tales of the game we all resonate with so fondly. Yet, if one was to assume that we didn’t devise new projects during our lengthy time off, you’re sadly (rather, happily) mistaken. We have tons of exclusive content to come this summer featuring you – the stars of the grassroots football community. So in this brief re-introduction, a very warm welcome back to each loyal reader, follower and/or subscriber of thevoicegrf.com – both old and new. Welcome to the platform solely for the players who truly matter.

Without a doubt, it’s been a season of ups and downs for many of us – and without delving too much into the effects of the pandemic, the stop-start nature of our campaigns was anything but ideal. Nevertheless; after many eventful double bankers, some intense 30 minute halves and some devastatingly tired legs, we persevered through the circumstances, completed our fixture lists and collectively kept our game alive. For that, plaudits are in order to each and every grassroots football player in the UK. It took an unholy amount of guts, time and energy – but we achieved that together. A huge well done.

Funnily enough however, it was through the hardship that certain players across the UK rose high above the rest with some tremendous performances – performances more than worthy of extra recognition. That leads us to the introduction of our newest blog series, where we’ll be handpicking players across the UK on a weekly basis as part of The Voice of Grassroots Football – Star of the Week. Whether a goalkeeping masterclass, a perfect defensive display, a dominant midfield performance or a clinical striking production – we’re on the lookout to broadcast a collection of the best men’s, women’s and U16’s grassroots football matchday performances across the UK.

To be in with a chance of featuring one of your players on our Star of the Week blog series, ensure you’re posting your matchday highlights and videos on Instagram, before tagging @thevoicegrf. As eager as we are to see the footage, our main goal is to see every grassroots football team in the country publicising their team’s individual journeys. Every shot. Every tackle. Every chant from the side line. Show the world the exact talent that makes our game so special.
